OUR Beliefs

  • GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is all powerful, all knowing, and has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God. The Godhead models perfect relationship and is in agreement with the role each person exercises: God as Father, Son as sacrifice, and Spirit as power. Scripture References: Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 45:18; Matthew 28:19; Acts 17:24-30; Romans 1:20; 2 Corinthians 13:14; I Peter 1:2

  • god the father

We believe that God the Father holds all the attributes of God while exercising a unique role in the triune God. He is the father of Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and yet still one with both as God. He seeks to relate to us as perfect Father, adopting us into His family as we place our faith in His Son. Scripture References: Luke 1:35; Matthew 3:17; Romans 8:15-17; John 15:1&2; Hebrews 12:7-11; 2 Peter 3:9; John 3:16

  • Jesus Christ

He is the only Son of God and the only way by which we can be reconciled to a right relationship with God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, and rose from the dead so that we could be redeemed from our sinful nature and restored to a right relationship with God. As we surrender our lives to Him we receive forgiveness of sins, the gift of the Holy Spirit, victory over sin and death, and eternal life in Heaven. Scripture References: Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 11:25-26 14:6, 10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4, 3:21-25; I Corinthians 15:3-4, 51-57; I Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15

  • Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit has been given to reside within the followers of Jesus Christ by Jesus Christ in order for the saved to be like Him in this world. He is our perfect counselor, comforter, and guide. We cannot live the way Jesus lived without His power and presence in our lives. Scripture References: John 14:16-17, 16:7-13, 17; Acts 1:8; Romans 5:5; I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16, 12:4-7; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18

  • Man

People are made in the image of God to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. To put this simply, we all have a sin nature; however, we are not separated from God because of the sin nature but because we give into it and sin. The only way mankind can be brought back into a right relationship with God is through the free gift of grace through Jesus. Scripture References: Genesis 1:27, 2:7, 2:16-17; Psalms 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1

  • Salvation

Salvation is Gods free gift to us but we must accept it. We are saved by grace (God’s part) through faith (our part). Real faith produces repentance (a turning from our self ruled life to a Jesus ruled life), a willingness to confess Christ as our Lord and Savior, and a willingness to be baptized as the scriptures command. Salvation is to be lived out now and extend for all eternity. Scripture References: John 1:12, 14:6; Acts 2:37-38; Romans 5:1, 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5

  • The Bible

The Bible is God’s inspired Word. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is truth without any mixture of error. It is God’s relevant gift for all mankind as the nal authoritative guide for faith and living. Scripture References: Isaiah 40:8; Psalms 12:6, 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy1:13, 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21

  • The Church

The Church is the living, breathing, embodiment of Jesus Christ in the world. The Church is not a building or institution; rather it is the people who live their lives under the authority of God. Thus, the local church is the local embodiment of Jesus Christ in a community. Scripture References: Matthew 16:16–18; Acts 2:42–47; Romans12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:4, 4:16, 5:24-32; Colossians 3:14–15; Hebrews 10:25; 1 Peter 2:4-5
